They were constant companions until the bitter, heartbreaking end.

18-year-old Gail Schultz and her 12-year-old brother Paul “Butchie” Schultz bundled up on March 7, 1953 and headed out for an afternoon walk. Gail, a recent high school graduate wanted nothing more than to spend time with her sibling who was born with special needs. But when the pair failed to return home after several hours, their worried father made a horrific discovery.
